About
Ayat

Ayat is a Michelin Guide-featured Palestinian restaurant group serving honest, authentic cuisine across New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. This isn't just another Middle Eastern spot– this is what happens when Abdul Elenani and his wife, Ayat Masoud, bring their family kitchen to your neighborhood.

Rooted in Za'atar, steeped in tradition, and reimagined for today: every plate we serve tells our story. From the best of traditional Palestinian classics to fresh takes on Middle Eastern faves, we're serving up the food that raised us, with a side of straight-up flavor. Our casual bistro vibe means you'll feel at home whether you're sharing a Mansaf or Maklouba feast with friends or grabbing Shawarma on the go.

OUR STORY

(A MESSAGE FROM ABDUL ELENANI):

Our kitchen is fueled by olive oil, bold spices, fresh ingredients and a whole lot of love. I am confident you will find this here because our bistros were created in honor of my wife, Ayat. She is a Palestinian lawyer with a passion for food. Ayat is honest, hardworking, and loves her career; but there is a different kind of love that radiates through her when she is cooking. Seeing this passion in her and experiencing her delicious food, it was clear to me that the community needed to experience this too. So I created a bistro named after her where she can come to cook with local ingredients sourced from our FalahiFarms. A space where she can share her passion for food with the community she loves and works hard for.

Community & Giving

Giving Back Is Part of the Recipe

At Ayat, feeding people isn’t just about what’s on the plate — it’s about how we show up for our community. From free Iftar meals to surprise Shabbat dinners, we believe in breaking bread as a way to break barriers.

We support causes that matter to us: from local food drives to global relief efforts. We partner with organizations doing real work in the world. Because when you carry the spirit of Palestine, you carry a responsibility to care for others.

Got a community initiative you think we should be part of? We’d love to hear about it.
